What a fab day! Entered Faith in a KC Working Test and it was today, we were NFC (not for competition) as I had been in SB years ago with Kodi when he was a youngster. We had an awesome day today and whilst we couldnt be officially placed I was over the moon that we received a lovely little recognition that Faiths place today would have been a 3rd if we were not NFC, it really meant a lot to me and at just 7mths old I’m so proud of her! Am definitely feeling encouraged to enter the scarey classes now.
We arrived to find many more cars than I had expected to see and quickly found the secretaries tent to register for our class. We thankfully then had plenty of time to relax and for Faith to have leg stretch. After the introductions and safety talks we headed off with our trainer/tester for the Special Beginners class who was the lovely John Parnham.
The day comprised of lots of different things, some we did well at and some not so well but all of it enjoyable. Highlights for me where sitting Faith out in the field, seeing split retrieves thrown out for her and her waiting beautifully! I sent her for each one and each was bought back to hand, great stuff! She was also unfazed by shot, did well walking in the line up and some lovely stays and sit to whistles and steadiness on thrown dummies etc. A seen retrieve that had a delay in the send saw her forgetting where it landed but she really hunted for it and eventually found and returned it. Topping off the day was getting her to retrieve from water!
Was really lovely that the day was also spent with Debbie & Ditdot (Faiths sister) Dot was brilliant and it still amazes me how much Debbie has managed to do with Dot with a broken and pinned wrist, real credit to her! Highlight was Dottie being so determined to get her dummy from the water, brave little hairy girl!!
Thank you to The Italian Spinone Club of Great Britain for a superb day, so well organised, such a lovely relaxed atmosphere and everyone so lovely, helpful and friendly. Lovely to see all the other great dogs doing their thing and to catch up with lots of friends too. Well done to all those others who placed, lovely to see plenty of Weimaraners in the cards 😀
