Crufts – Gundog Day – Kodi’s 1st Crufts

Unfortunately Kodi had conjunctivitus in his right eye for Crufts, however a great day was still had and I took my friend Claire along for the ride.

We were both a little surprised at just how quiet it was considering it was also best in show day but to be honest that suited us quite well. We arrived early, having stayed in a local hotel, and entered via the hall housing Gordon Setters, this gave me a chance to see my setter showing friends and wish them luck for the day.

We then headed straight for the Weimaraner breed ring, got ourselves a good seat and settled down to watch the puppy dog classes commence.

It was a fantastic morning with all but one longhaired being placed in the winning line ups! Kodi’s half brother took first in a large Post Graduate class. We stayed to see the challenge which was great to watch as I hadn’t managed to see it last year. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see all the bitch classes as our seats were in front of some doors in use and Claire and I had to disappear to hunt down some warm food to survive ! We did however, stay long enough to see those we really wanted to see in the ring.

We returned in time to see BOB judging and the bitch went on make the first group cut at Best in Show judging time which was fantastic.

We shopped till we dropped and still didnt get to see all the halls or all the stands as usual but a fantastic day was had all round.

Hopefully for Crufts 2011 Kodi will not only be fit and healthy but will have qualified too as it would be nice to get him on the green carpet as he is maturing well.
